Shelby's Tea House

The math of tea

Session on August 2, 2026 with Alex & Zack

Here we go!

Apr 12, 2007

106 full years since end of 1900; 26 were leap, and the rest non-leap. Hence we had 106 + 26 = 132 "shifts". We can reduce this by finding 132 (remainder 7) = 6 shifts

January adds 3 shifts;

February, no shifts;

And March, 3 shifts.

Finally 12 shifts for Apr 12th. Altogether, 6 + 3 + 3 + 12 = 24 shifts.

But we reduce this again as 24 (remainder 7) = 3 shifts.

3 shifts from Monday (the end of 1900) was a Thursday!!

Bruh!
